For over 15 years, I've helped B2B technology companies develop and implement content strategies. When generative AI emerged, I began exploring its potential to support content creation workflows. While it showed promise for accelerating certain tasks, I also discovered clear limitations: fabricated facts and citations, difficulty capturing authentic brand voice, and challenges maintaining coherence across long-form narratives.
These insights led me to co-develop Good Bloggy in 2024—a platform designed to enhance (not replace) human writing capabilities. Good Bloggy supports distinctive writing styles, integrates brand style guides, and implements a structured process from brief to draft, helping ensure the final product authentically represents your brand voice.
At the same time, I've been thinking about what AI will mean for the future of content marketing overall. Data show (1) the internet is filling up with bland AI-generated copy and (2) traditional organic search strategies are delivering lower returns. Surfacing a new product or business is objectively harder than it's ever been.
How do we handle this new reality? Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. But I believe at least part of the answer is to create content so unique and so interesting that it will rise above the sea of AI-generated slop and get attention in any channel. In my role as Founder of Good Content, I encourage clients to consider the purpose behind every piece of content, take bold risks, and always measure the results.
